Allergens:

Wheat
Cost:
$2.30 for 120g pouch. $1.91 per 100g
Age / who it is suitable for:
The packet recommends 8 months +
Texture / Flavour:
This has a very gelatinous, sticky, thickish texture. It has corn starch added as a thickener which is likely the reason for this. It left an odd mouth feel not resembling anything I would have from eating banana, yogurt, strawberry or chia.
What we like:
- Honestly not a great deal. After reviewing so many of these pouches it's getting quite old as they are all essentially water, cheap fruits and vegetables with a dash of other ingredients.
- They are quick and convenient.
- There is nothing harmful purely from being eaten. The issues arise from overuse and not offering other nutrient dense foods as the main diet.
What we like less:
As above. These are an expensive packet of pureed pear and banana.
Packaging Claims:
"Made with Australian Milk" - Likely true however given only 10% of the packet is milk it's not overly relevant.
No sugar, salt, juices, concentrates, preservatives, artificial colours or flavours. Again all true. The packaging claims focus a lot on things that haven't been added. It's a shame they fail to mention all the nutritious ingredients that also haven't been included.
The Take Home:
- An expensive packet of water, pear and banana with a dash of milk. Easily replicated at home for a fraction of the price. Try our homemade recipe here.
