How To Introduce Strawberries
Strawberries are a much-loved fruit for little ones and are suitable to include from 6+ months. They are filled to the brim with vitamin C-so a great food to include alongside iron rich foods, as vitamin C helps with iron absorption. They are also a great source of fibre for you little one!

Things to thing about:
Size, taste and softness varies with the time of year, ripeness and also seasonality. When starting solids, we want to look for big, soft and juicy strawberries so they are easy for little gums to tackle.
Preparing:
If you are doing purees, you can simply blend or fork mash your berries until you're feeling confident to move to finger foods. 6-9 months
If you are offering strawberries as a finger food then offering them whole is ideal at this age. It allows them to grab it and bring it to their own mouth. Pick a nice soft one that is easy for gums to break apart. 9-12 months
Move to thinly slicing strawberries from this age 12 months+
Keep offering thinly sliced. As your bub gets more confident with learning to chew food then you can cut bigger slicers or quarter or offer whole.
As always, these are guides and you should also be guided by the skill level of your bub when it comes to serving fruit the right way for them.
