Strawberry Santas!

Ingredients

  • 6 large strawberries
  • Cream cheese
  • a few tsps of desiccated coconut
  • Decoration for eyes and nose- we used dates cut into thin strips for the mouth and rolled into little balls for the eyes. For older kids you could use chocolate chips.

Directions

  • Wash and dry your strawberries
  • Cut off the green end/stem so you have a flat end
  • Then cut off the top third (the pointy end- this will be the "hat")
  • Spoon about 1/2 a tsp of the cream cheese on and add your "hat on top" you can dip the hat in cream cheese and then in the coconut for a "pom pom"
  • Add your eyes and nose
  • Serve immediately or pop in the fridge until everyone is ready to eat

Storage Instructions

Best assembled fresh and served straight away. You can prepare them a few hours ahead and keep them covered in the fridge until everyone is ready to eat.

Nutrition Notes

A fun, festive way to serve fresh strawberries — full of vitamin C — with a little cream cheese for protein and calcium. A lovely lower-sugar Christmas treat compared to most holiday sweets.

Parent Tip

This one doubles as a Christmas activity — toddlers love helping spoon the cream cheese and place the little faces. Cut strawberries to a safe size for your bub's stage.
