A no-cook, two-minute bean mash — perfect for quick meals, travel days, or when the family dinner doesn't suit bub. Iron and protein rich, with the texture easily adjusted from smooth to mashed.

This recipe is a super simple one that is great to make when the family meal isn't suitable to be shared or you are short on time. It also works great when travelling as there is no cooking involved!

Safety: If there are chickpeas in your four bean mix and you are fork mashing, please be mindful that the chickpeas can be more difficult than the other beans to mash. Ensure there are no whole chickpeas before serving as these are a choking hazard.

Age & Texture Guidance

Suitable from around 6 months, with the texture adjusted to suit your bub.

6–9 months: puree or mash smooth.

9–12 months: a rougher fork-mash.

12 months+: soft mash as is. Always check there are no whole chickpeas, which are a choking hazard.
