Apple Cinnamon Weet-Bix for Babies (Easy Baby Breakfast Recipe)

Ingredients

• 2 Weet-Bix

• 2 tablespoons finely grated apple

• ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

• ½ teaspoon ground flaxseed

• 3 tablespoons milk (or boiled cooled water / suitable milk alternative)

To serve:

• Fresh fruit on the side

Method

  1. Crumble the Weet-Bix into a bowl.
  2. Add the finely grated apple.
  3. Stir through the cinnamon and ground flaxseed.
  4. Pour in the milk (or water/milk alternative).
  5. Mix well to combine.
  6. Allow the mixture to sit for 1 minute so the Weet-Bix softens and absorbs the liquid.
  7. Add extra liquid if needed to reach your baby’s preferred consistency.
  8. Serve with a side of fresh fruit.

Storage Instructions

Best served fresh.

If needed, leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 12 hours, but texture is best when freshly made.

Nutrition Notes

Weet-Bix is a great source of whole grains, is low in sugar and is fortified with iron, making it a popular breakfast choice for babies starting solids. Apple adds natural sweetness and fibre, while flaxseed provides healthy fats and extra fibre to support digestion.

Parent Tip

Serve with a Sticky Spoon to let baby practise dipping, or for older babies use the Selfie Spoon so they can work on scooping skills independently.
