A 5 minute prep, baked banana bread French toast that turns leftover bread into a protein-packed family breakfast — no added sugar and freezer friendly.

A quick and easy way to use up left over bread, this baked banana bread French toast is a protein and energy filled breaky option for your little ones. Literally, this will take you 5 minutes to make and 15 minutes to bake. It makes several serves too so will feed the family for breakfast or last you a couple of days in the fridge.

Age & Texture Guidance

Suitable from around 6 months — there's no added sugar and the baked texture is lovely and soft.
6–9 months: cut into finger-length strips that are well soaked and soft for palmar grasping.
9–12 months: offer small pieces to practise the pincer grip.
12 months+: serve as is, topped with yogurt and berries.

Egg, milk and wheat (bread). Check your bread label for other allergens such as soy or sesame.

Allergen Substitutions

Use oat or soy milk for a dairy free version, and gluten free bread if needed. The egg forms the custard base here, so it can't easily be left out — a commercial egg replacer will work but the texture will be softer.
