Review: Only Organic Banana Biscotti Cookies

Written by: Jeanette Blandford | Published on April 19, 2026

Only Organic Banana Biscotti Cookies are a baby snack option made from mostly wheat-based ingredients with some fruit and added iron. They’re marketed as an organic option and are designed to be easy for little ones to hold and eat, but when we look at the ingredients and nutrition, they sit more as a sweet snack rather than a nutritionally dense option.

What’s In It?

Wheat Flour*, Apple Juice Concentrate*, Rice Flour*, Sunflower Oil*, Wheat Starch*, Low Fat Milk Powder*, Banana Puree* (4%), Raising Agent (Sodium Carbonates), Mineral (Iron), Natural Banana Flavour*.

Certified Organic Ingredients

Cost

$5 per 100g pack, which makes them quite an expensive snack option for what they are.

Allergens

Contains milk, gluten and wheat. May contain soy.

Taste

The taste is quite odd. Despite having “natural banana flavour”, with only 4% actual banana they don’t really taste like banana — more banana-adjacent. They are quite sweet, and the smell is fairly strong which can be off-putting. Overall, not a favourite here.

Texture / Age Recommendation

Designed as a biscotti-style biscuit, these are firm and easy to hold, making them suitable for babies and toddlers learning to self-feed. The packaging states they are suitable for 10 months and older.

Nutrition Info

Per 100g, these provide 1770kJ of energy, 7g protein, 12g total fat (with 1.1g saturated fat), 70g carbohydrate and 14g sugar.

Fibre is quite low at 1.9g per 100g. We are generally looking for around 3g per serve for little ones, so this falls short.

Sodium is very low at 59mg per 100g.

These follow the pattern of many baby biscuits — primarily carbohydrate-based, with added sweetness coming from ingredients like apple juice concentrate.

While the packaging may claim they are “naturally sweetened with fruit”, this comes from fruit juice concentrate, which is essentially just a source of added sugar.

They are also marketed as being “enriched with iron”. While it’s always nice to see iron included, the amount is quite small and it’s plant-based (non-haem) iron, which isn’t well absorbed by the body, so the overall benefit here is fairly limited.

The sugar sits at 14g per 100g, which is more in line with what we might see for older toddlers (2+), but not something we’d recommend as a regular option for younger babies.

What We Like

Certified organic ingredients

Contains added iron

Very low sodium

Easy to hold for self-feeding

What We Don’t Like As Much

Only 4% banana despite the name

Low in fibre

Sugar is relatively high for younger babies - uses fruit juice concentrate as a form of added sugar

Iron content is minimal and not well absorbed

Not particularly nutrient dense

Quite expensive for what it is

Better suited as an occasional snack rather than an everyday option

How to Serve to Balance the Meal

If offering these, they work best alongside other foods that add more nutrition and balance, such as yoghurt, fruit or a source of protein and fat.
