These muffins are freezer friendly and a good one for the lunch box of older kids too.
Quick Recipe Snapshot
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 60 minutes
Makes: 12 muffins
Freezer friendly: Yes
Texture: Soft (soften further for younger bubs)
Age & Texture Guidance
Suitable from around 6 months without the topping. From 6–9 months, offer a whole or halved muffin to grasp and soften with a little milk or yoghurt. From 9–12 months, offer smaller pieces as finger food. From 12 months and beyond, the optional streusel topping can be added. Breads and muffins can feel claggy for new eaters, so softening helps.
Allergens Present
Dairy (milk; butter in the optional topping) and wheat/gluten (flour).
Allergen Substitutions
Use a plant milk and a dairy-free spread (or skip the topping) for a dairy-free version. As written this recipe contains wheat.
