Review: Chobani Greek Yogurt Pouch Strawberry 140g
What's in it?
Skim Milk, Sugar, Strawberry (6%), Water, Vegetable Gums (Pectin, Locust Bean Gum), Natural Flavours, Mineral Salt (Calcium Citrate), Acidity Regulators (Sodium Citrate, Lactic Acid), Fruit and Vegetable Concentrates, Live Cultures (Milk)
Allergens
Contains: Milk
May contain
No cross-contamination allergens listed on pack.
Age / who it is suitable for
Not specifically marketed as a baby product. The regular Chobani pouch range contains added sugar, so we would treat it as an occasional option for toddlers 12 months and over rather than a regular baby food.
Texture
Smooth and easy to squeeze. A strained Greek yoghurt style — naturally thick and creamy.
Cost
Around $2.00–$2.50 per 140g pouch at Woolworths and Coles. The larger 140g serve size offers reasonable value per 100g.
What we like
- Real strawberry: At 6% strawberry content, this has one of the higher real-fruit inclusions of any flavoured yoghurt pouch we reviewed.
- Calcium: Contains calcium citrate — a bioavailable form of calcium. Source of calcium for bone development.
- Protein: Being a strained Greek yoghurt, protein content is naturally higher — good for older toddlers who need protein to support growth.
- Live cultures: Contains live and active cultures from the straining process.
- No artificial colours or preservatives — the colour comes from fruit and vegetable concentrates.
- Larger 140g serve — appropriate for toddlers with a bigger appetite.
- Made in Australia.
What we like less
Added sugar is the main flag for this product. Cane sugar is listed as the second ingredient, which means it is present in a significant quantity. For babies under 12 months we would not recommend this. Even for older toddlers, there are better no added sugar alternatives available at a similar price.
The base is also skim milk rather than whole milk or full cream, which means the fat content is much lower than ideal for babies and toddlers. Babies and toddlers need dietary fat for brain development and energy — low-fat dairy products are not appropriate as a staple for this age group. It is also worth noting that the Chobani Fit range (a separate product) is even higher in protein and contains sweeteners — that range is designed for adults and is not suitable for babies or toddlers at all.
Packaging claims

The Take Home
The regular Chobani Greek Yogurt Pouch in Strawberry is a reasonable occasional snack for toddlers over 24 months, with a good real-fruit content and naturally high protein from the straining process — but the added sugar and skim milk base mean it does not make our recommended list for babies or as an everyday toddler snack. If your toddler loves Chobani, a better approach is to buy a tub of plain Chobani full-fat Greek yoghurt and stir through some mashed strawberry at home — you get all the quality of the brand with none of the added sugar and a much better fat profile.
