Age / who it is suitable for
Marketed for kids. Suitable from around 6 months as part of a varied diet, but we have nutritional reservations for babies under 12 months (see below).
Texture
Smooth and easy to squeeze. A thinner consistency than Greek-style yoghurt pouches.
Cost
Around $1.50–$1.80 per 70g pouch at Woolworths and Coles.
What we like
- Calcium: Contains added calcium at around 150mg per 100g — meets our 120–125mg benchmark.
- Vitamin D: One of the few pouches to include added Vitamin D, supporting calcium absorption and immune health.
- Protein: 3.8g per 100g — reasonable for a snack-sized serve.
- Live cultures: Contains B. Lactis and other live yoghurt cultures.
- Natural colour — uses 160b (paprika/annatto) rather than artificial dyes.
- Sodium: 32mg per 100g — impressively low.
What we like less
Added sugar is the main concern. This pouch contains cane sugar, giving it around 7.6g of sugar per 100g — well above what we look for in a yoghurt for babies and toddlers. We always recommend choosing no added sugar options where possible, particularly for babies under 12 months whose taste preferences are still being shaped. The fat content of 2.9g per 100g is also lower than our ideal for babies under two — we look for at least 3.5g per 100g (ideally full fat from cream) to support the energy and brain development needs of young children.
The Bluey branding is also worth a mention — while it does no harm, character-branded packaging is a marketing tool that can create pester power and make it harder to transition toddlers to less-branded, less-sweet options. And honestly, the nutritional profile does not quite match the loveable brand on the front of the pack.
Packaging claims
- Contains Vitamin D
- High in calcium

- Live cultures
- Made in Australia
The Take Home
The Pauls Kids Bluey Vanilla Yoghurt Pouch is a mixed bag. The low sodium, Vitamin D, calcium and live cultures are genuinely good — but the added sugar and relatively low fat content hold it back. It is a fun occasional snack for toddlers who are eating a wide, varied diet, but it is not one we would reach for regularly for babies under 12 months or as an everyday snack for toddlers. If your little one is Bluey-obsessed, that's understandable — just try to balance it with plain full-fat yoghurt from a bowl as their main dairy source. There are better yoghurt pouch options available at a similar price point.
